Ieva Jokubaviciute

Lithuanian pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute’s intricately crafted performances have led critics to describe her as possessing ‘razor-sharp intelligence and wit’ (Washington Post) and as ‘an artist of commanding technique, refined temperament and persuasive insight’ (New York Times). In 2006, she was honoured as a recipient of a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship. Ieva’s three solo piano albums drew critical acclaim, and she has also recorded as collaborator on many other albums. Ieva performs internationally in recital and as concerto soloist, including with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Her piano trio – Trio Cavatina – won the 2009 Naumburg International Chamber Music Competition and toured nationally from 2005-2015.

As a much sought after chamber musician, Ieva performs internationally with the violinist Midori. Her collaborative endeavours have also brought her to major stages around the world, such as: Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and the Kennedy Center. She regularly appears at international music festivals including: Marlboro, Ravinia, Bard, Caramoor, Chesapeake Chamber Music, Kneisel Hall, Four Seasons, and Prussia Cove in England, among others. Earning degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music and Mannes College of Music, her principal teachers have been Seymour Lipkin and Richard Goode. Ieva has established herself as a mentoring artist at the Marlboro Music Festival, is on the piano faculty at Duke University and at Kneisel Hall Chamber Music School and Festival in Blue Hill. Her first time visiting Australia, audiences and Institute fellows welcome Ieva to the Megalong Music Festival in 2025.
